The preview renders headings, lists, code blocks, links, bold/emphasis, and other common constructs, and honors the reader typography settings (line height, paragraph spacing, etc. — see Chapter 7).

5.3 Document Reader

Double-click a PDF, EPUB, CHM, or Word/Excel document to open it in the built-in reader tab. For PDF:

Reader features:

  • View modes: continuous scroll / single page / double page (spread).
  • Vector rendering: PDFs are drawn as vectors — zoom stays crisp.
  • EPUB: chapter navigation and in-book search.
  • CHM: Contents / Index / full-text Search tabs.
  • Office: Word/Excel document model rendering (paragraph alignment, font sizes/colors, tables).
  • Reading comfort: invert (night mode), brightness, text/background colors, line height, paragraph spacing, letter spacing, and text alignment (see the Reader page of the settings dialog).
  • Auto scroll: hands-free scrolling at a configurable speed.
  • Reader tabs show the page number and paging controls; the status bar shows current/total pages.

5.4 Image Editor

Double-click a PNG/JPEG/SVG to open it in the image editor tab:

Capabilities:

  • Viewing: zoom and pan; the status bar shows format and dimensions.
  • Adjustments: crop and resize dialog.
  • Drawing: brush, eraser, color picker, and a text tool (text is edited as an overlay and baked into the image on save).
  • Filters: twenty-plus one-click filters — grayscale, invert, vintage, sepia, blur, sharpen, emboss, edge detect (Sobel), duotone, halftone, oil paint, LO-Fi, dramatic, golden, violet duotone, obsidian, brighten/darken, calibrate, vignette, and more.
  • Export: save-as (with alpha channel export).

The toolbar switches to image tools for image tabs; undo/redo work as usual.
