11 Settings

The Settings dialog manages WxTerm’s global options. Its navigation tree is organized into five groups: Theme Preferences, Terminal, Connection, Keyboard, and Cloud Sync.

11.1 Open Settings

  • Menu “Options → Settings”, or the shortcut Ctrl+, (Cmd+, on macOS).
  • The “Settings” button in the toolbar.

11.2 Dialog Layout

Settings dialog

A tree navigation sits on the left; the selected page’s options are shown on the right. Navigation tree:

├─ Theme Preferences
├─ Terminal
│ ├─ Overview (cursor, blink, scrollback, default encoding)
│ ├─ Cursor Style (cursor style, blink)
│ ├─ Misc Settings (scrollback, default encoding)
│ ├─ Background Image (mode, image path, opacity)
│ └─ Advanced Settings (font, font size, antialiasing, terminal type, color mode, etc.)
├─ Connection
│ ├─ Overview (default protocol, auto reconnect, SSH keep-alive, connection timeout)
│ ├─ Default Settings (default protocol, auto reconnect)
│ ├─ Timeout (SSH keep-alive, connection timeout)
│ └─ SSH (SSH compression, SSH agent forwarding)
├─ Keyboard (backspace, delete, Home/End key mappings)
└─ Cloud Sync (sync toggle and sync contents)

“Terminal” and “Connection” are expandable group nodes: clicking the group name opens its overview page; expanding it reveals the sub-pages. Overview pages gather the most frequently used items, while the sub-pages provide the full set of options.
